Mindset

Can we change our lives?

We can do anything we set our mind to (life change motivation)!

If you are getting up every morning unhappy, going to work unhappy, being with your family unhappy – this is NOT the way it should be! What I experience often times is people saying “thats just the way it is – we can’t do anything about it” – but I don’t believe that this is true.

Our society doesn’t like big dreamers. One of the first things we learn in school or even in Kindergarden is to stop dreaming. The second thing is to follow all the rules blindly the adults have made up for us. Though some of those rules are useful, some of them are clearly not. But not everyone has gotton this kind of resistance within him or her to decide which is the case. And obviously the state of mind your family and your parents are in also counts for your perception of life, possibilies and what kind of things and thoughts are accepted as “true”.

First of all, if you are in a place, where you want to CHANGE YOUR LIFE: start dreaming again. Secondly, QUESTION all the rules you follow or even teach your kids. Question if they serve you, question if they truly serve others, question everything… And last but not least try to forget about all the people telling you, that to be where you are is better than to try something different and fail. They might have said this out of love, to protect you from harm and failure, but if you want to change your life, you are not happy where you are. And this should be worth taking a risk of failure or being in an uncomfortable, because new and unknown, situation.

If you try something new you might fail…
but if you don’t you already have failed!

It is so WRONG our society teaches our children from the start to give up on what they want to become and just follow what “they” teach them. How could we even get to know why we are here, what our purpose is, what we love, what we don’t love? Following rules blindly causes so much harm to humanity. Because there is so much potential being lost on this way!

Being in love with yourself, your dreams, your needs and also with others, so that they can follow their dreams, that is the thing we should teach our children first of all! Success is when you live a happy life, success is when you earn what you deserve for doing the things you love. I don’t believe we should go for any less in our life!

And I believe this is possible for each of us, no matter where we are and in which cirumstances we are born in. If we allow us to dream, set goals out of our dreams, become clear what we desire and focus on getting there – we’ll get there.

It is never too late, start now!

The only limits in our lives
are those we impose on ourselves.

Bob Proctor

If you ask me, I would recommend to check out the limits you have set up already, the beliefs that tell you something you want or desire is not possible.

Life Changing Habits

I don’t recommend just to throw everything you’ve already learned and done away. But to start thinking again about what is possible for you, what you want and don’t have.

Practicing Gratefulness

Crazy enough a good spot to start is writing/journaling daily about the things in your life you are grateful for. You may think there is nothing to be grateful for or what should that help with getting with what you want for your life, but you should trust me here, once you’ve established this habit and recognize how many things in your life already are good you will start finding more of those in the future.

Maybe you want to tell me now that you are sick or poor or in a bad relationship (or all of those things) and so there is nothing you can be grateful for, but if you go deep enough and look around with open eyes you’ll still find wonderful things in the world to be grateful for, and it may be just the fact that the sun warms, the air is fresh and both spend life for us. Or it may the fact that you have a disease but you are fit in other things and have your arms, hands and legs to do wonderful things for you. Or your mind that also can be a wonderful tool to create and imagine. Or you can be grateful that you have enough to eat every day.

We are so used to have so many things and everything available for us despite luxury articles that we forget to value these things. But we should. And this will free our mind and thoughts and let us recognize what we already have.

To my experience this first one is a life-changing habit on its own, as it changes the perception you have from your own life and you will become happier and more satisfied only by doing this daily! Try it 🙂

Evaluate your dreams & Setting goals

The second step on your way to change your life is to go deeper into your dreams and desires. Spend 30 minutes daily to evaluate your dreams. Spend them to paint a picture in your mind (or on paper if you wish) of the person you want to become and the goals you want to reach.

No goal is too big, nothing is excluded. If you are dreaming receiving an “Oscar” go for it. If you are dreaming to invent something world-changing: go for it. Don’t let any dream die because of the belief that it is not possible to achieve. Every invention on earth, every great success from any person is based on the DISBELIEF of other people’s rules and opionions and is driven by belief and trust.

I would recommend to start as follows:

  1. Write or record what you are dreaming of, make it detailed, imagine every little aspect of your dream and how you will feel once you’ve reached it. Revisit your big dream every day.
  2. Paint yourself in your mind. Imagine yourself like you want to be. The attitutes you will have, the looks, the clothes, anything in detail. Imagine the person you want to become. Revisit this person (this picture of your future self) every day.
  3. Start immediately with taking action towards your goal!!! Anything that might help you to reach this goal! Don’t wait until you feel ready, you never will feel ready. Just do what you think is the right step in this very moment and do it!

The challenges and struggles of the hero’s journey exist for a reason: They help you and your business grow.

So, my conclusion is: YES! We can change our lives, if we set our mind to it. It might take some effort especially on the personal development site, but it IS possible. Some habits are harder to break (or make) than others. But there are lots of ways to deal with this.

I am still working on MY ideal future – What about you?
